About me
Hello!
My name is Vladimir Grekov. I’m a game designer with 5+ years of experience and 8 released games on 4 different platforms. Looking to help you with your projects as well.
I also have experience designing mobile management games, hypercasual games and strategies, metroidvania platformers and 3rd person action/RPGs.
I make, play and dream of video games, and I like it! Usually, as a game designer, I deal with the gameplay design and mechanics. Provided with the game’s core formula (or creating one myself), I’m capable of finding proven or innovative mechanics, to ensure the game’s appeal to current audience, or engaging into the new one.
I’m also experienced in:
- game analytics, decision-making and data gathering
- balancing the game to fit it’s core and narrative
- creating the game’s core features
- designing sandbox features and gameplay systems
- narrative design
- working inside the game engine
- rapid prototyping features and deciding whether they fit the game’s core or not
- creation of UI/UX mockups and prototypes for the game
- team leading and creation of technical documentation
But I think the best skill I possess is an ability to feel and listen to the game’s vibes and help it find its identity.
As for myself as a gamer, I enjoy entirely different types of games - hardcore slashers,
like Hyper Light Drifter or Bayonetta, cinematic experiences, like God of War or Hellblade, sandbox polygons, like Breath of the Wild or Dwarf Fortress, managers, like This War of Mine or Faster Than Light, RPGs, like Darkest Dungeon or Nier: Automata.
I also took part in 5 hackathons and game jams, including the 2020’s GGJ where I led the team of 4 people with the Dead Ahead game.
